Travel Days Dress PDF Pattern

This dress is a development of the Summer Vibes Dress that has been my go-to dress — and many others’ — for all seasons..

Named Travel Days Dress because on a recent trip to Sri Lanka I found myself wanting the comfort of this design to wear on trains, planes and on long slow windy drives. The delightfully lightweight cotton kept me cool but the volume gave me somelayers when I needed it.

The sleeve has had some volume taken out of the shoulder and across the bust but some added into the bottom for a luxurious elasticated peasant sleeve that can be worn to the wrist or pulled up to the elbow for a glorious shape.

The bodice has been lengthened slightly and ties replaced with self covered button and button loops to give you more or less coverage as required.

The front and back skirt scoop with gathers centred to give an elegant silhouette. There are side seam pockets, of course!

Photos on Instagram are a size medium and I’m 174cm in height to give you an idea of length. You can add or take off length, add an extra tier is you want a true luxe gown. For cooler months you could use a heavier weight fabric or layer if using a lightweight cotton.

Sizing is XS - XL. Under bust measurement is narrowest part of dress, you need that to get over your shoulders and bust.

Below is a guide for measurement & guide for fabric consumption information. Fabric guide is based on 110cm wide  striped fabric. If you use wider fabric you will need less. 

Available as downloadable pdf files in A0, you can get this printed at Officeworks or equivalent.  Also available as A4/Letter which you can print at home and piece together. There are 45 x A4 pages for or 3 x A0 pages.

Sewing ability is an intermediate sewist, although with support of Youtube videos provided for rouleau loops button closure & collar guidance, an adventurous beginner could definitely achieve this.
